Graduated in medicine from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1995), medical residency in Internal Medicine, Hospital Santa Casa de Misericordia de Belo Horizonte (1997) and gastroenterology at Hospital Governador Israel Pinheiro-IPSEMG (1999), Master and Doctorate in Medicine (gastroenterology) from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2002 and 2006, respectively), she has a Diploma of medicine revalidated in Italy by Universitá Degli Studi Di Catania (2002). She has specialization in nutritional therapy by GANEP Human Nutrition, GANEP, Brazil (workload: 420h). Currently, she is an associate professor at the Department of Internal Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Minas Gerais and develops activities in undergraduate and graduate studies. Permanent lecturer in the Graduate program in Applied sciences to adult health-Faculty of Medicine-UFMG. Participates in the research groups: Chronic Viral Hepatitis of the Alfa Institute of Gastroenterology, Hospital das Clínicas, UFMG and group: Interdisciplinary and interprofessional Group on Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism-Nutriclim (leader; dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/ Mirror Group/6049980064582555). It works in research, mainly in the following subjects: nutrition, viral hepatitis, host immunological response, alcoholism and quality of life. She is coordinator of the Extension Center of the Faculty of Medicine (CENEX), since February 2018. He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Hepathology (Titular member), of the Brazilian Federation of Gastroenterology, of the Brazilian Association of Medical Education, of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), European Association for the Study of The Liver (EASL), the European Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) and the Society on Sarcopenia, Cachexia and Wasting Disorders (SCWD). Associate member of the group of Liver, Bile ducts, Pancreas and Spleen (Ambulatory of Viral Hepatitis and Ambulatory of Hepatic Nodules) of the Alfa Institute of Gastroenterology (IAG) Hospital das Clínicas (UFMG).
