Berta is a Registered Dietitian and a Ph.D. student in Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.

Her Ph.D. focused on socioeconomic inequalities in obesity, is being conducted in collaboration with NNEdPro.

She is enthusiastically interested in researching how the structural determinants of health, and consequently health inequalities, influence the prevention, development, and management of obesity.

Currently, she works as a research assistant at the Institute of Public Health of the University of Porto.
