Integrated & Lifestyle Medicine for Pain, Disability & Work Health

Having trained in London and Dundee, I obtained a highly coveted NIHR (Walport) Academic Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology, at the Universities of Manchester and Cambridge and then pursued further training in Occupational and Disability Medicine. The integrated approach is further complemented by almost 2 decades of experience as a Registered Osteopath and Naturopath. This has formed the basis of evidence informed clinical practice and commitment to guide patients, their families and carers through the maze of injury and illness.
Have been able to successfully implement this alongside standard medical care in liaison with Human Resources for the care of Corporate and Finance employees, NHS workers, Public Services (Teachers, Higher and Further Education staff, Law Enforcement Agencies - Police, Armed Forces, Probation Service), the Safety Critical Sector, Logistics (Road, Rail and Offshore), Heavy industry manufacturing, and Charitable Sector (including SMEs and Social Enterprises).
Outcomes include increased productivity, reduced sickness absence, sustainable wellness via a healthy ageing approach in tackling chronic disease, obesity, pain and associated disability. Closely aligned to the clinical work, is the Non Executive role as Medical Director and Head of Wellbeing at Work @ NNEDPRO Global Centre for Nutrition and Health, and associated academic appointment at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge. This is further strengthened by my contributions as Chair of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) Scientific Committee on UJIH (Unemployment, Job Insecurity and Health), founding Trustee of OSH Africa - working with colleagues from the World Health Organisation and International Labour Organisation to enable workplace health from a Local to Global perspective.
