5th NNEdPro Summer School in Applied Human Nutrition

In previous years the Summer School has been successfully accredited by the Royal Society of Biology and the Royal College of Physicians for purposes of CPD and we will apply for accreditation of this online course in 2020.

The NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health in Cambridge is conducting the certified Summer School in Applied Human Nutrition in September 2020. 

 

The 2020 edition of the Summer School is co-organised with the School of Advanced Studies on Food and Nutrition of the University of Parma, Italy, and will be delivered by a contingent of internationally recognised lecturers for the occasion.

The NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health also works closely with the University of Cambridge, Ulster University and Imperial College London.

In 2020, the event will be online and take place over the three first weekends of September to allow more flexible distance learning. All the live lectures will also be recorded and mentors will be available at different time zones to answer your questions. In addition, you will get free access to all relevant and recorded material as well as 1 year membership as associate member of the International Academy of Nutrition Educators (IANE), with core benefits such as 1:1 mentoring sessions, topical webinars, online journal clubs appraising current research and much more.

Foundation level certificate in Applied Human Nutrition covering basic nutritional concepts, through current research and methods, to prevention, healthcare and policy applications:

Who is the course for?


The Summer School is intended for individuals interested in nutrition and its health-applications and is also open to undergraduate students and other adult learners.




What are the requirements?


Whilst the course is open-access, a background in relevant biological sciences and/or health related disciplines is required for candidates to sit the final assessment and to receive a certificate of competence. However, those from other backgrounds will be eligible for a certificate of attendance but will not need to sit the final assessment. To ensure that all participants are able to enjoy as well as benefit from studying with us, you will need to be confident understanding and following arguments presented in written and spoken English at University level.




What will I learn throughout the course?


The course provides in depth exposure to Applied Human Nutrition including basic concepts in human nutrition; nutritional research methods; nutrition in healthcare and nutrition public health and policy. Will I be assessed?


Candidates from healthcare and related backgrounds will additionally be able to undertake an assessment at the end of the course to gain a certificate of competence, accredited by professional bodies in the UK for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development. To date, dual accreditation has been provided by the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Society of Biology in the UK, providing internationally recognised quality benchmarks. The assessment is optional and to undertake it the candidates need to submite their CV pior to the Summer School days, the option to send the CV and undertake the assessment will be given within the confirmation email after the candidate processing the payment.




What additional support and benefits can I get?


In addition to learn and network with an international community of peers and experts, the opportunity to be assessed and gain a certificate of competence, new International Academy of Nutrition Education (IANE) Members will receive a post-course 1:1 mentoring session. As a delegate of a NNEdPro event, you are entitled to a 20% discount on the cost of publishing your article in BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health. Those attending the NNEdPro Summer School will receive for free the registration for the NNEdPro Summit. This scientific meeting is a opportunity for candidates attending the NNEdPro Summer School to participate in directly relevant international conference proceedings immediately after completing their course.




Is there a discount for group reservations?


A discount of 10%, 12% and 15% will be applied for groups of over 3, 6 and 10 respectively.




What is your refund policy?


For any cancellations received on or before 1st August you will receive a 70% refund. Any cancellations received between 1st August and 29th August will receive a 40% refund. If you cancel after 1st August no refunds can be issued. Substitute delegates are not accepted.
