Dr Anuprita Shukla is a Senior Research Associate on the TIGR2ESS project, based at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich, UK. She is also cross-posted at the UNESCO Chair in Adult Literacy and Learning for Social Transformation, UEA and the NNEDPRO Global Centre for Nutrition and Health, Cambridge, UK. Her current research focuses on intergenerational knowledge exchange, nutrition literacy and sustainable food systems approach for improved health and well-being outcomes in India. Her earlier research focused on gender dimensions of agriculture in wheat producing regions in South Asia. She has a long-standing experience of working in Public Health and Policy, including HIV/AIDs.

Her contribution to international development spans 15 years, undertaking research and project management covering ten countries across Asia and Europe (including Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Germany, Netherlands, France & UK). She earned her PhD in Public Health from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK in 2014. Her PhD was titled, 'Intended and unintended consequences of monitoring and evaluation in HIV prevention programmes in India: discrepancy between pain and paper’ employed a micro-ethnography research design.
