Tutor Biographies: Dr Sumantra Ray (Shumone)

- Honorary Senior Clinical Fellow, Cambridge University Hospitals.
Sumantra (Shumone) is a Medical Doctor as well as a Registered Nutritionist, with special interests in Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Nutrition Education. He works at HNR as Senior Medical Advisor/Scientist.
Previously a Senior Clinical Research and Teaching Fellow at The Institute of Cardiovascular Research in Dundee, Scotland, he also held an NIHR Public Health Fellowship and was a Corfield Scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge.
He is currently Chairman of the ‘UK Need for Nutrition Education Programme’ (NNEdPro) and also co-established the Nutrition Education Review Group at the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine. Dr Ray is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Fellow in the Department of Medicine at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
