Tutor Biographies: Dr Poonam Sharma
Dr Poonam Sharma is a Speciality Registrar in the East of England Deaneryl.
She completed her MBBS from India and moved to UK where she did a Masters in Clinical and Public Health nutrition from University of Dundee. Her Masters dissertation was on ‘Diet and Disease Activity in Ulcertaive Colitis’. An abstract based on her dissertation won ‘Young Scientist Award’ in the PENSA International Congress in Seoul, South Korea.
She has worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Dundee and was involved in Research in Cardiovascular and Rheumatological Diseases.
She has an interest in Clinical Nutrition and has been involved in a variety of projects in this area. She has also been actively involved in Nutrition teaching for medical students while working in University of Dundee. She is pursuing a career in Rheumatology whilst continuing to work in the field of Clinical Nutrition.
